I re-did a lot of songs where I had the vocal almost gone [using a prior Vogone version], most are now gone completely, and have done some new songs, which had been a failure in the past. We all know there are songs impossible to vocal remove, but if anybody has a product that is better than Vogone, they haven't put it on the market. I do a lot of obscure stuff which has never been available on karaoke discs. Well it is now. Keep up the good work!
Mike Pyne LRAM, ARCM, LGSM, LTCL, A.Mus.A, Dir. of Music, Australia: My interest in karaoke is directly related to Vogone - which didn't exist when I started trying to remove the lead vocal or instrumental part from recordings using a $2000 hardware device called the Thompson Vocal Eliminator (I have one I'll sell to you!). It was possible to eliminate the lead vocal on about 25% of the material I tried - but the quality of the audio track that I was left with was greatly inferior to what can be achieved with Vogone.
I can assure you that I have tried every hardware and software [vocal remover] program I could find before I came to the conclusion that there is NO other program that does as good a job as Vogone with such ease of use. If you want to buy a professional audio editing program like WaveLab, Soundforge etc and cut and paste and fiddle about for hours/days/weeks/months to get one clean track, you might be able to get a better result - but I wouldn't put money on it! And the time & effort involved is incomparable to the ease and excellent results that can be achieved with Vogone.
I just tried a Roy Orbison .mp3 (Workin' for the Man) and a Sinatra (They Can't Take That Away From Me). The vocal removal is extraordinarily good! The minimal amount of lead vocal remaining would never be heard when replaced by a performer. What is also quite remarkable is just how good the remaining instrumental backing is compared to the original!! When I switch between the original track and the Vogone processed track, the Vogoned track has SO MUCH MORE LIFE & PRESENCE than the very flat sounding original!!

Orzelw MTU.Community Forum: I got my Vogone 3.004 free upgrade last night and went to work on a few "mic drown-out" tracks created using the previous version. I had good success at reducing the vocals even further on several. On my "Best of Gerry and the Pacemakers" CD, a collection from various albums, the mixes are... well, mixed. On two of the tracks I had the balance adjustment halfway across the scale from center pan, and the vocals were totally eliminated! I have my work cut out for me now, going back on the troublesome tracks and running them through this new version. The new off-center panning adjustment will save me hours in the future, not having to try hit-and-miss re-balancing in a third-party audio wave editor. I still got improved vocal removal with Vogone 3.004 over the results from my rebalanced wave files.
Lynda Vanett Christian Performer: I just upgraded from Vogone 2.210 to 3.004. Having previously used this program, I knew it was already the best out there. On some songs which were previously "Vogoned"' with 2.210, I was very pleased to discover that 3.004 actually removed more vocal in spots AND retained some instruments which were previously lost! mojorising92 MTU.Community Forums: I was a Dart and Cooledit Pro 2 fan to remove vocals from Wav files. I bought Vogone 2.104 at midnight and was surprised I was able to get it in minutes. I started to work on some 60's music and Light My Fire. I had the best sound possible for Karaoke. The sound is clearer with very little distortion at all. So far Vogone 2.104 is the best vocal reducer that I ever work with. If you're looking for a program that has instrument on the same track of the vocals I was surprise I can get some of the instrument sound back without a echo effect. Clearly this is the program to get.

Vogone can import Audio CD tracks one at a time from your selected CD/DVD drive, vocal remove and save them back to the hard drive. Tracks import as uncompressed .wav files for the best possible vocal removal.

Boost Music Bass And Treble
Just like your stereo, Vogone has Bass Boost to increase the amplitude of the low frequencies, and Treble Boost to increase the high frequencies. Since all vocal removers decrease the song amplitude by removing the vocals (often the loudest), being able to boost the low and high frequencies makes the finished song sound "richer". Vogone creates higher quality!

Create 2-Track Monaural Files
Vocal removers end up with the left and right channels mixed together as a monaural (versus stereo) track. Then, this single track is copied to both the left and right tracks and saved as a 2-track file that plays out both speakers.

Boost The Volume

Some Songs Will Still Have Vocals
Like ALL other vocal eliminators, any reverberation echoes applied to the vocal remains in the finished song. However, most added reverb, like any vocal high/low frequencies kept to make the music better, are usually so low you can easily sing over it. Some users thank us for "leaving in" this nearly inaudible echo as a singing guide.
These are example types of songs that cannot have their vocals removed. Some examples are:
- Songs with a high percentage of Reverberation applied to the vocals will still have a ghostly echo after the vocals are removed. In some songs, this may be almost as loud as the original vocal. It others it will be imperceptible.
- Groups where each singer is panned to a different stage location (you may remove one singer).
- Live concert recordings where singers move around the stage.
- Songs recorded monaural (1-track) before 1960 and digitally remastered into stereo.
- A monaural track copied to both channels to create a stereo song.
NOTE: The basic vocal removal process, even used in Vogone, does not allow running a vocal removed song a second time to remove more or different vocals.
