Versions

Keyrite V2.012 Released March 7, 2007
This is a free upgrade from 2.008

  1. Upgraded to Run with Windows Vista - We needed to upgrade the Installation program to run with Vista. All is reported working fine.
Keyrite V2.011 Released November 28, 2006
This is a free upgrade from 2.008

  1. Add .BIN File Support - Since Microstudio 3.0 only imports .BIN files, no longer .CDG (which are identical to .BIN except the .CDG name extension), 2.011 now allows opening .BIN, .CDG and .WAV files.
  2. Changed Field Colors - The Select Input File and Save Output File fields are now black background with green text.
  3. Allow Longer Filenames - It was discovered that with a long path name to the file location, and a longer filename, Keyrite could display an error and prevent processing the Selected Input File.
Keyrite V2.010 Released March 23, 2006
This is a free upgrade from 2.008

  1. Improved Installation - The install program was upgraded for easier installing.
Keyrite V2.009 Released January 19, 2006
This is a free upgrade from 2.008

  1. Key Change "-1" Button Upgraded - The -1 button parameters were adjusted to deliver better sound.
  2. Removed Audio Pop - The audible "pop" that could be heard when key changing a .cdg file using a + key was found and removed.
  3. New Screen Layout - The controls were rearranged and buttons combined to be more logical and easier to use.
  4. Select Input File Dialog Files of Type Persistent - The selection now remains either .cdg or .wav that you last clicked.
  5. Gray Out Non-Functional Controls - Now, a file must be opened or ready to save before some buttons can be clicked.
  6. Key Change Buttons Play - Clicking any Key Change button now turns it green amd starts playing the song.
  7. Select Output File and Write File Buttons - These are now combined to select the destination output file and write the key changed samples to it.
  8. Removed Pop-Up at the Start - This duplicated the About... dialog box and is now gone.
  9. Stop Preview Error Message - An error message no longer appears when you cick the Stop Preview button.
  10. Installation Upgrade - The install program now allows reinstalling the same version on the same computer by REPAIR. Installing a new version requires Internet registration by the computer being on-line or using a Memory Stick or Floppy Disc and registering from a different computer that is Internet connected. Any errors that occur during installation are displayed to insure a smooth install.
  11. Security Upgrade - The security protection method is more forgiving of computer upgrades.
Keyrite V2.008 Released December 04, 2003
This requires purchasing a new Registration Code.

  1. Key Change Algorithm Upgraded - The basic way we detect the key and adjust the pitch with the key change buttons has been fundamentally changed. The resulting sound should now be free of distorting artifacts such as quivering, vibrato, echoes, rubberbanding, etc. that were reported by some professional users with prior versions.
  2. Select Output File button - We changed the Save as Type: list box to only show the open file type. This forces the output file type (.cdg or .wav) to be the same as the Input File type. Some users thought Keyrite could create a .cdg karaoke file from a .wav file.
  3. Default to CDG File Type - When Keyrite runs, it will start off using .cdg files to make it easier for our Karaoke users.
  4. Added Reg Code button - This command in the Help menu allows you to see the Registration Code that Keyrite was installed with on this computer.
  5. Manual Now is HTML - The manual was converted from Adobe Acrobat PDF format to standard Internet HTML format, read by your standard Internet Browser program.
  6. Upgraded End User License - The wording was changed for Registration Code that we now use, instead of the Serial Number we used in the past.
  7. New Registration Code and Installation Program - This version uses MTU´s new Registration Code security and Installation program to protect the program and insure it installs correctly on the Windows.
  8. Added Error Checking for Email Spaces - If a space was added before or after the Registration Email during installation, the product would install, but when run would display the error "Serial Number does not match registered Serial Number". This error will not happen again.
  9. Keyrite 1.400 Discontinued - We discontinued the Keyrite Home version and lowered the price of Keyrite Pro for consumers.
Keyrite Home 1.400 Released December 15, 2003, Discontinued
  1. Select Output File button - We changed the Save as Type: list box to only show the open file type. This forces the output file type (.cdg or .wav) to be the same as the Input File type. Some users thought Keyrite would create a .cdg karaoke file from a .wav file.
  2. Default to CDG File Type - When Keyrite runs, it will start off using .cdg files to make it easier for our Karaoke users.
  3. Added Reg Code button - This command in the Help menu allows you to see the Registration Code that Keyrite was installed with on this computer.
  4. Manual Now is HTML - The manual is now in standard Internet HTML format so you can open and view it in your Internet Browser program.
  5. Upgraded End User License - The wording was changed for Registration Code that we now use, instead of the Serial Number we used in the past.
  6. Upgraded Installation Program and Security - Replacing version 1.302, version 1.400 uses our new Registration Code security and new Installation program to protect the program and insure it installs on Windows.
  7. Added Error Checking for Email Spaces - If a space was added before or after the Registration Email during installation, the product would install, but when run would display the error "Serial Number does not match registered Serial Number". This error will not happen again.
Keyrite V1.302
Released 12/20/02
Obsolete by V1.400
  1. Change Pitch while playing - The pitch change control buttons change the key while playing. Play will continue from that point in the song at the new pitch.
Keyrite V1.300
Released 12/06/02
  1. Force Filename Extension - When you manually enter a filename for the Output file, if you don't add the .wav or .cdg name extension, Keyrite automatically adds the extension the same extension as the selected the Input file extension. If you enter the extension, it will use your entry. If you select an existing file on the hard drive, its extension is used.
Keyrite V1.202
Released 08/28/01
Obsolete by V1.300
  1. New Read Manual Button - The Keyrite manual is now downloaded in the Install program. This new button on the front panel instantly displays the manual in Adobe Acrobat Reader format with links to each topic for easy navigation. The manual has more details about opening the Input and Output files.
  2. Improved the Select Input File Operation - The input filename field is now grayed out so you must click the Select Input File button to open a file. This prevents entering a filename that does not exist on the hard drive. Some users were confused by this extra flexibility.
  3. Select Output File Button and Output Filename Field Operation - This new button separates the function of opening or creating a file from the function of writing the file. When clicked, it displays an Open File dialog box to select a filename on any drive or folder. It also allows entering a new filename to create a new file. The Output Filename field allows entering a filename without clicking the Select Output File button.
  4. New Write File Button - Click this button to write the key changed audio to the selected output filename. In V1.108 this operation was automatic when you clicked the Open button in the Output File dialog box. This made it confusing if you wanted to store to a new file instead of overwriting an existing file.
  5. Improved the Preview Play Button - The operation of this button has been improved. Clicking any other button now displays a message to "Please stop play first." This improves the user interface and now prevents some errors that were seen in V1.108.
  6. Minimize and Maximize Icons - These standard Icons were added in the upper right corner of the window to provide these functions. When Minimized, the program is still operational, but no longer visible.
  7. KeyRite Changed to Keyrite - The capitalization of the name has been changed.
  8. Bug Fixed - After clicking the Write File button and the process had finished, clicking the Input File button (or others) would display the message Please Stop Play First!. This has been fixed.
  9. Bug Fixed - In prior versions it was possible to open the Input Filename in the Output Filename field and overwrite the file. This would make the file unusable. Now, if the same filename is opened in both fields, when the Write File is clicked it verifies that the Output is not the same as the Input, preventing overwriting the input file.
Keyrite V1.108

  1. ADDED "0" KEY CHANGE BUTTON - When selected, this plays the original .wav or .cdg Input File without any processing.
  2. WARBLING DISTORTION IN CDG PROCESSING - A bug was fixed in the CDG processing section. This caused a warbling distortion reported by some users. It may have also added distortion to the vocals when processing a .cdg file.
  3. MAKE FILES OF TYPE PERSISTENT - When you select the type of file (.wav or .cdg) for the Input File, it will now remain that selection for the current session and when keyrite is shut down and run again.
  4. MAKE DEFAULT FOLDER PERSISTENT - When you select the path (drive/directory) for the Input File, it will now remain that selection for the current session and when keyrite is shut down and run again.
  5. DEFAULT OUTPUT FILE TYPE TO INPUT FILE TYPE - When you select the Input File Type, the Output File type is set to the same selection. Users can change it if desired before creating the Output File.
  6. HANDLE MISSING AUDIO CARD - If the computer does not have an audio card, keyrite will warn you but still run. You will not be able to hear any test audio, but you can still create key changed output files.
