Upgrading A Prior Hoster Version
Installed Under Microsoft Vista
Print And Follow These Instructions
Vista requires files that can be changed to be stored in specific folders.
You are seeing this page because Hoster could not move your KMA files.
Follow these steps to fix this:
- Left click the Start button to see its menu
- Left click Control Panel
- Double click User Accounts
- Left click the bottom item Turn User Account Control on or off
- When a dialog appears requesting your permission, click Continue
- In the next dialog, uncheck the check box beside Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer
- Click OK
- Click Restart Now when asked if you want to restart your computer to apply these changes
- After Windows restarts, run Hoster again
You may need to use Windows My Computer to search for "*.kma" files. You will see they are in a new folder something like C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\MTU\Hoster\Databases.
On February 20, 2008 at 5:50PM EST we uploaded a new 3.319 version that has this document and a few other changes to insure better compatibility with Vista. When you do the above and install adn run this new Hoster 3.319, it will automatically build your Songs Database when it runs. If all your songs are not in the new Songs Database, then follow the paragraph above to add all folders that contain .kma files to the Build Songs Database list window.
We suggest you leave the UAC disabled. There are other Vista problems that may occur until Microsoft fixes their known bugs with a first Service Release.
