Question:

How to install when your computer doesn't have Internet access.

Answer:

NOTE: This is not longer supported in the current versions.  This was stopped in the middle of 2007.  All Current versions MUST have the computer connected to the internet, there is NO other way.

 

If you cannot connect your computer directly to the Internet long enough to Install the software, or it is behind a Firewall blocking the installing Software from accessing the Internet, then purchase a USB flash drive.

WARNING! THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR FLASH DRIVE. Make sure you backup anything on this drive before using it.

  1. Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on the computer and run the software's installation program.
  2. During installation the program will determine it cannot connect over the Internet, locate the USB drive, and automatically shift to use this removeable drive.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Once the registration data has been written to the USB flash drive, remove it from this computer.
  5. Take it to a computer that is on-line and not behind a firewall and plug it in.
  6. Using Windows Explorer, open the USB flash drive to view its contents
  7. Locate the "runme.exe" file and double click it, or right click it and select "Run as..."
  8. The registration data will be sent to the MTU registration site
  9. If there is any problem an error message will appear with instructions what to do. You can edit the registration data on this computer.
  10. When the registration has been accepted, follow the directions that appear.
  11. When done, remove the USB flash drive from the "registrating" computer and plug it into the "installation" computer.
  12. Run the original software installation program again with the USB flash drive plugged in. It will be found, the registration approval read and the installation will complete on this computer.

NOTE: When swapping USB drives, the drive letter can randomly change when you plug a drive in.
